A sad day for pets and their families in Saudi Arabia

Though this post strays from our typical product reviews, we at the Swanky Pup wanted to take a minute to remind everyone how lucky we are that our pups are so accepted in our families, our homes AND our country. Just last week news broke that in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia residents have been banned from selling dogs and cats as pets as well as walking them in public!

This ban went into effect after authorities became fed up with men using pets to attract women and "pester families" and anyone caught violating the act will have their beloved pets confiscated. Can you imagine?!

So next time you see a cute guy in the park with a gold retreiver puppy or are out and about in a public place with your swanky pooch, remember how lucky we are that we (and our pups) are lucky enough to have all of the freedoms that we do.
