How slow can you go?
Is your dog a total chowhound, who eats his food so fast he barely leaves time to chew? This behavior is not only a little disturbing to watch but it is also unhealthy for dogs since it can cause bloat which is a potentially fatal condition. The Brake-Fast Bowl is an amazing new bowl that will help slow down your pooch so they can enjoy their food and stay healthy too.
The Brake-Fast bowl works in two ways. First, it has strategically placed obstructions (pegs) so that your dog has to take the time to eat around them and get the food out from between the pegs. Second, it slides around on the floor while your dog is chowing down so that your pup cannot plunge its face into the bowl without it sliding away a bit.
We tested this bowl on a very hungry Sheltie named Buster, who was eating his food so quickly he was throwing up after meals. On his first attempt eating out of the bowl it took him about 5 minutes longer than usual to finish his meal (his normal time was about 45 seconds). I was extremely happy with how well the bowl slowed down his eating so that he actually had time to taste the premium food that he gets fed. Over the span of about a week he did get a bit faster at eating once he figured out how to the bowl worked but it still slows him down a lot and we are very satisfied with the results and he no longer throws up after meals.
The Brake-Fast Bowl comes in plastic and the new metal design and is durable and dishwasher safe. Also, it comes in three sizes so dogs large and small can enjoy the benefits of slower eating (for those flatter face pups out there, go with the small) and it works with kibble or canned food. If your dog eats like the food is going out of style then the Brake-Fast bowl is the answer you have been searching for.
