A great tasting, healthy treat

I'm sure many of you out there have tried Greenies with your pets. These green dental chews have been around for years and have been very popular with all types of dogs. But a couple of years ago, I stopped feeding my dog Greenies because I was worried about her choking on them. (A few dogs had problems with them). Since that time, Greenies have changed and are now "easy to digest" and no longer a health threat to your dog.

My dog absolutely loves these treats. And I love them, too, because they help to freshen her (generally awful) breath while helping to clean her teeth and providing her with a good, nutritious treat. The blend of proteins, vitamins, and minerals make it a great snack for your dog.

They come in five sizes, each with a different firmness appropriate for that size dog. The new chewy texture helps clean teeth to the gum line. And I love that they have special Greenies for dogs on a diet (Greenies Lite) and for the senior dog (Greenies Senior).

Try out a free sample today and let your dog enjoy a Greenies treat!

Crystal Healing Stones for your Pet!

Stone-Healing.com offers a wide variety of holistic solutions for pets and their people. The possibilities for stone-healing are endless. The theory behind stone-healing is that all things vibrate at a different frequency. The goal is to choose a stone that's vibrations help heal your pets ailments. Harold tried the yellow jadeite.

Yellow jadeite represents aspects of protection and favorable fortune and harmony for your pet. One of the benefits of yellow jadeite is its ability to treat disorders of the reproductive organs. Harold has no more reproductive organs so it can't help him there. Other benefits include assistance in the reduction of pain in the sides, hip and legs as well as providing stabilization. I don't speak dog so Harold can't tell me if the stone is helping but it is an attractive accessory.

Beyond the medicinal possibilities the stones are cute accessories for any dog. They come in three sizes: teacup, small and large/medium. Remember that each stone is one of a kind, and no two stones are alike. Each unique healing stone charm is accompanied with its own silver clasp and "love my dog charm" that attaches to your pets collar ring. Although it is tempting to get the color that you like the most, pay attention to the healing properties each stone provides. This product is available for your cat or horse companions too!

Your backyard...in a box

Recently, my puppy and I were introduced to The Pet Loo, an innovative potty solution that brings your backyard into a box. The Pet Loo arrived at my door fully assembled and ready to go. All you have to do is put the synthetic grass on top of the box, place it where you would like your dog to go and it is ready to be used. When your dog pees on the box it is funneled into a collection chamber at the bottom, making it very easy to empty and keeping your pups paws clean after he goes to the bathroom. For poop, just scoop it up just like you would outside and the mess is gone.

This is a great product for anyone who lives in an apartment building, people who need/want their dog to go potty inside, elderly pups who have trouble holding their bladder or anyone lacking grass for their pooch at their home. I live on the 5th floor of an apartment building, so keeping The Loo on our balcony has been a convenient addition to our household, especially since my puppy goes to the bathroom so frequently and would have a rough time holding it while we walked down the hall, got in the elevator and then made our way out to the grass.

Unlike a pee pad, The Loo simulates grass and your yard, which is a more natural place for your pup to go to the bathroom and will make the transition from real grass to an indoor potty much easier. Also, to ease the transition onto The Pet Loo , they offer great training videos on their website so your pup can learn to use the product quickly and easily.

The Pet Loo comes in 2 different sizes for you to choose from depending on your pups size. Also, if your dog likes to wander a bit to find the perfect spot to go, I recommend the bigger size so he has some space to sniff around first. If you want a creative and convenient indoor potty solution, The Pet Loo is what you have been searching for!

Buy a teething toy, save your furniture

I recently received a Petstages Puppy Cool Teething Stick as a gift for my new puppy Baxter and we both love it. I like it because it gives him something productive to chew on (and distracts him from chewing on my furniture) and I give it to him frozen which soothes his sore gums as he is teething. He likes it because it is easy to carry around, it makes a fun crinkle noise as he chews on it and it has lot of different textures for him to enjoy.

The teething stick is made out of soft, durable and very colorful fabric that can be used normally or frozen. Just soak it in water, pop it in the freezer and when you take it out it will be a frozen treat and a big hit with your puppy.

Best of all the teething stick is extremely affordable. I found it online at That Pet Place for only $3.99. A small price to pay for a happier puppy during that tough teething stage!

Gorgeous, Handmade Dog Bowls, Treat Jars and more

Each dog is unique, so shouldn't they each have their own, personal dog bowl that reflects their look and personality?

I have found an artist, Debby of Faux Paw Productions, who creates beautiful, solid and substantial ceramic dog bowls, treat jars, and other accessories, and can match them to your dog's breed, look, and personality.

These handmade, hand thrown bowls have a nice, glossy finish. They are made of the finest white porcelain china clay and made on a potters wheel. The colors are extremely vibrant and bold. The detail in the artistry is amazing. Debby free hand draws every image; then she paints the bowls individually, bisque fires them for 14 hours, glazes them with three hand coated applications, then finish fires them for 8 more hours, and then cools them down for 20 hours. Each piece is a unique work of art.

Design your own dog bowl or take a look at the current product selection. Also, be sure to take a look at the other special items that Debby creates: portraits of your pet (amazing!!!), dog trivets
and for those with feline friends, plenty of kitty items like bowls, cat clocks, and more.

This is one site you should all check out for amazing custom pieces for your pet. These would make wonderful holiday gifts as well!

No More Rainy Day Blues!

When it is raining or after a big storm my dog drags in a ton of mud. Those four little paws create a big mess on my beige carpet. The last thing I want to do is shampoo my carpet after each storm. My secret weapon: Petkin PetWipes.

They gently clean his face, ears, body, eyes and the ever important paws while eliminating that rainy day smell. They come in 30 count as well as 100 count and you can get them in a variety of options. The PetWipes are my favorite but they also come in Extra-Gentle, EyeWipes, EarWipes and they have a liquid oral care option as well.

You can find them at PetSmart or PetCo and they are priced very reasonably. I like the PetWipes for their versatility and you can even use them on your feline friends.

Pick up poop, save the environment

What are you using to pick up your dogs poop? If you are like most people you’re probably using regular old plastic bags collected from grocery shopping trips or other stores. Until now I was doing the same, until I discovered the biodegradable poop bags from Poopbags.com.

These bags are corn-based, a great size and very soft. They are also a dark color so the yucky contents will be concealed while you carry it to the nearest trashcan. Most importantly, they are 100% biodegradable so you are contributing to keeping our society clean and doing the right thing for the environment. Using these bags will take away the guilt of harming the environment with regular plastic bags, without losing out on any of the functionality of other bags on the market.

Why pick up something biodegradable with something that is not? Try these poop bags and get an entire month supply for less than $5 AND get free shipping on all orders!

Fresh and natural food for your dog!

In my house, I try to buy only the healthiest foods for my family. I shop generally at Whole Foods, try to buy only natural and fresh foods without preservatives, with things like flaxseed and wholesome ingredients. This philosophy applies not only to my kids, but to my dog as well.

I was recently introduced to Homestyle Select meals for dogs. These all-natural, fresh meals are perfect for maintaining your dogs health while giving them a yummy meal, too. These refrigerated meals come in a log (sort of like Toll-house cookies that you slice and bake) and are very easy to use. You just slice it on the marking on the package, serve it to your dog, and then refrigerate it. It is just like fresh cold cuts or other fresh food.

I tried the chicken, vegetable & rice dinner with my dog and she absolutely loved it. Now, to be totally honest, she loves any type of food, but this one she particularly savored extra-long and I saw extra mouth-licking for awhile after she was finished.

I like that the food has real veggies in it and that it is fresh (there is 70% meat in it!) The rice used is brown rice for easy digestion, and there is also flax-seed oil added for healthy skin and coat. The food is part of the PAN diet, which stands for pasteurized, all natural, and nutrient dense. There is a special food for puppies, too.

To learn more, check out this video, or see if there is a sampling event in your area. Print out a coupon and try out this great product with your dog today!

Nicknames: Little girl, monkey head, my squishy

Likes: Chasing rabbits and squirrels, riding in momma's bike basket, snuggling under the covers, swimming, sitting on laps, eating people food and treats, and lounging with momma

Dislikes: Getting groomed, when her mommy goes anywhere without her and not being the center of attention

BRRRR! It's getting cold out there!

This winter when you are bundling up in your coat, don’t forget to keep your pooch warm too with the Fashion Pet fleece coat! Mr. Waggles, a 13-year-old cocker spaniel, tested out this coat for us and he looked SO adorable and did not mind wearing it for walks and going outside to potty. It is made of faux suede with a fleece lining and just so happens to match my Ugg boots perfectly! The coat is very warm and soft, easy to clean and it stays on with Velcro so you will not need to wrestle your dog into his coat every time you take him out. Also, it comes in camel (my favorite), pink and blue and the sizes range from extra small to large.

This coat is essential for any swanky pup without a thick fur coat of his own or who gets so cold he shakes all over when you take him outside in the winter. He will be the warmest and most stylish pup on the block!

Find it at PetCareRx and get free shipping on orders over $35!
